This monument commemorates Queen Elisabeth of Belgium and stands on Place de l’Albertine at Mont des Arts in central Brussels. It faces the equestrian statue of her husband, King Albert I, across the street. The Brussels heritage inventory describes the work as a statue by René Cliquet, flanked by bas-reliefs by Willy Kreitz showing the queen as patron of the fine arts and as a nurse, all executed in Massangis stone to a design by city architect Jean Rombeaux.
